Insurance & Fees

Does Therapy South accept insurance?

Therapy South is in-network with the following providers:

✔ Tricare
✔ Kaiser
✔ Blue Shield of California
✔ San Diego Regional Center

If you are covered by one of these plans, we will handle the billing directly with your insurance provider. We are unable to bill for services through any other HMO plan outside of the ones listed above. If you have an HMO plan not listed, and are seeking therapy services, we recommend checking with your insurance provider to find an in-network clinic that accepts your specific plan.

If we are not in-network with your insurance provider, you may still be able to use your PPO plan to pay for therapy services. If your plan is not a PPO or does not allow for out of network benefits, then we are unable to bill your insurance for our services. At this time we are unable to provide any super bills for families.

We encourage all families to contact their insurance provider to understand out-of-network benefits, including coverage for pediatric therapy services and potential reimbursement options.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a copay and do I have one?

A copay is a fixed dollar amount that your health plan requires you to pay upfront for a covered service, however not all health plans require you to pay a co-pay. If yours does, we will collect it at the time of service.

Our billing team will verify on your behalf if your specific plan requires a co-payment for therapy services before we start, however we always recommend that you contact your health plan directly for full details.

What is a deductible?

This is the amount you must pay in full before your insurance will begin to pay for any services with us. Not all plans have a deductible, and sometimes this requirement is waived.

Our billing team will verify on your behalf if your specific plan carries a deductible for therapy services, however we always recommend that you contact your health plan directly for full details.

Co-pay versus Co-insurance.

A co-payment is a fixed, set amount that you owe at every visit that doesn’t change, whereas co-insurance is a percentage of the entire cost of that service, meaning it could vary depending on which billing codes are used that day. Typically you only encounter a co-insurance obligation if you are out of network with us.

Private Pay

You are also welcome to pay directly for therapy services out of pocket.
