We believe in the infinite potential of every child we encounter. But each child is so unique, that it requires a truly customized experience to unlock that full potential we know exists. For many of the children we work with, one of the first things the child teaches us is that he or she has specific sensory needs that we simply can’t ignore. Learning about the unique sensory preferences of your child and responding to them positively, will dramatically change the way your child experiences the world around them.
Our therapists are all trained with a sensory based lens to ensure that this critical first step is not missed. If a child is in sensory distress, he or she cannot learn well. We want the child’s body to be in a “just right” state for learning so that the new experiences we show them are absorbed and retained. So often we see that the barrier to learning a new skill or speaking has so much less to do with those actual skills, and so much more to do with a weak sensory foundation. By building a therapy plan that fosters a strong sensory foundation, we create long-lasting sensory health.
The impact of sensory processing on the body is endless, but here are just some of the major ways that a strong sensory foundation can improve your child’s quality of life, and yours too.
